Insider Info

Scottsdale quietly houses a global fertility hub. The World Egg and Sperm Bank, founded in 2004 as the first independent egg bank in the U.S., now connects hundreds of donors with intended parents around the world.

A Scottsdale fertility leader is giving women a bold new way to plan ahead — and help someone else start a family while they’re at it.

The World Egg and Sperm Bank has launched Give & Receive, a new program that allows women to donate eggs to intended parents while freezing their own eggs at the same time, completely free. Considering egg freezing can easily run more than $15,000, the program opens the door to fertility preservation for women who may have previously written it off as financially out of reach.

Participants who complete an initial donation may qualify for the program, which includes freezing up to 12 eggs for their own future use during a later donation cycle. Along the way, donors also receive comprehensive fertility testing and genetic screening — the kind of medical insight that can make future family planning a whole lot clearer.

“We created the Give & Receive program with empowerment, choice and future planning in mind,” says TWESB CEO Diana Thomas. “By participating, young adults are helping create families today while preserving options for their own tomorrow.”

Founded in Scottsdale in 2004, The World Egg and Sperm Bank was the first independent egg bank and remains Arizona’s only woman-owned sperm and egg bank. Today the organization works with families and fertility clinics around the world while managing donor recruitment, processing, and storage entirely in-house.

The new program reflects a reality many women already know well: the traditional life timeline has shifted. Careers, travel, education, and personal goals often come first. Programs like Give & Receive simply offer a little breathing room — a way to support others on their path to parenthood while keeping your own options comfortably on ice.
