Romaldo “Ro” Gonzalez, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, founded Valors Veterans Community AZ, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit benefiting from the Arizona Golf Classic. His mission? Connect veterans, civilians, and resources through concerts, sporting events, volunteering, and the kind of community-building that actually shows up.

The Arizona cannabis industry is taking its power meetings out of the conference room and onto the green.

The 2nd annual Arizona Golf Classic returns with its Executive Invitational on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Westin Kierland Golf Club in Scottsdale, bringing together the people shaping the business of cannabis for a day of championship golf, high-level networking, and very strategic face time.

Founded by David Fowler, the Arizona Golf Classic has become a polished playground for C-suite executives, founders, investors, and industry insiders who know the best conversations do not always happen under fluorescent lighting. Sometimes, they happen between a shotgun start and a Bloody Mary bar.

This year’s tournament is sponsored by title sponsor Flow Arizona and is expected to host more than 250 cannabis executives, founders, and investors under the very direct mantra: “Play. Network. Be Seen.” Subtle? Not exactly. Effective? Absolutely.

The day begins with an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start and includes 27 holes of championship-level play, on-course contests, sponsor activations, gourmet breakfast, yoga on the green, lite bites, and several hours of uninterrupted access to cannabis decision-makers. In other words, it is networking with better shoes and much better scenery.

The event also comes with a philanthropic swing. This year, the Arizona Golf Classic aims to raise more than $20,000 for Valor Veterans Community AZ, also known as VVAZC. Led by Executive Director Ro Gonzales, the local charity provides essential support services to veterans across the Valley.

“The Arizona Golf Classic is what happens when the industry’s top minds step away from the boardroom to make a tangible impact,” says Fowler. “We are proving the cannabis community is a powerful force for good. We’ve designed this day to offer world-class networking and wellness, ensuring our participants leave with new partnerships and a shared sense of purpose.”

New this year, the tournament wraps with “The Happiest of Happy Hours,” an exclusive Executive Networking Mixer on the Patio from 2 to 4 p.m. presented by Proven Media and Supernormal. The mixer will feature trophy presentations and high-level social engagement, which is basically code for the room where everyone wants to be.

Proven Media Founder and CEO Kim Prince says the mixer is designed to create the kind of conversations that can move an industry.

“We are always looking for ways to elevate the industry and foster the kind of high-level conversations that only happen when the right leaders are in the room,” says Prince. “We are thrilled to host The Happiest of Happy Hours alongside Supernormal. and help celebrate the grit and leadership that drives the Arizona market forward.”

Supernormal. founder Adam Spencer says the tournament’s mix of industry access and charitable purpose made the sponsorship an easy yes.

“Knowing that it was a priority by the other Sponsors in having a non-profit recipient as the benefactor to the tournament while also allowing for us to make a great first impression to the professionals moving the needle in this industry is what made this tournament participation and sponsorship a ‘must do’ event for us,” says Spencer. “We are thrilled to take on the opportunity.”

The day will close with a raffle and charity auction before an optional “After-After” event in Old Town Scottsdale, because apparently one networking event was not enough for this crowd. Respect.

For cannabis leaders looking to connect, compete, and be very much seen, the Arizona Golf Classic is positioning itself as one of the Valley’s sharpest industry gatherings. It is golf, giving, wellness, and business development all rolled into one Scottsdale day, with just enough swagger to make the calendar invite feel important.
