Insider Info

Tempe Marketplace hosts more than 300 events a year, so it is doing a lot more than selling handbags and hiking gear.

Tempe Marketplace is giving its retail lineup a serious glow-up. The open-air shopping, dining and entertainment destination is adding more than 25,000 square feet of new fashion, outdoor and wellness retail, with Carhartt, KUIU, Coach, Tommy Hilfiger and Glo Tanning joining the mix.

It is a lineup built for wildly different moods: workwear, backcountry gear, designer leather, polished prep and a little self-care under one very bright Tempe sky.

Carhartt is already open, marking the brand’s first standalone store in the Phoenix metro area. The 6,000-square-foot location carries jackets, pants, shirts and accessories designed for demanding work, outdoor conditions and anyone who prefers their wardrobe with a little more grit.

KUIU is next, with a summer 2026 opening planned for its first retail location in Arizona. The premium performance outdoor and hunting brand is known for ultralight, highly technical apparel and gear engineered for extreme conditions, backcountry adventures and everyday wear.

Its 6,000-square-foot store will give local shoppers hands-on access to products from a brand that has operated primarily through a direct-to-consumer model. The in-store experience will also include expert product knowledge, making it easier to get properly geared before heading off-grid.

Late 2026 brings a different kind of adventure.

Coach will open a 4,500-square-foot store between Lululemon and J. Crew, adding premium leather goods, handbags, footwear, ready-to-wear and accessories to the property. The assortment will blend the brand’s craftsmanship and New York heritage with modern, trend-driven design.

Tommy Hilfiger will also open in late 2026 in a nearly 6,000-square-foot space between Lululemon and J. Crew. Expect the brand’s signature red, white and blue aesthetic, along with men’s and women’s apparel, accessories and seasonal collections that mix classic American prep with street-inspired style.

For shoppers more interested in glow time than trail time, Glo Tanning will open a 3,000-square-foot luxury sun spa in late 2026. The concept offers UV tanning, custom spray tans, red light therapy, skincare treatments and wellness services in a modern, upscale setting.

“The addition of these nationally recognized brands reinforces Tempe Marketplace’s role as a destination where shoppers can discover the latest in fashion, outdoor, and lifestyle experiences,” Taylor Alvey, vice president of leasing at Vestar, says. “We’re proud to continue curating a dynamic, high-quality mix of brands that elevates the shopping experience and reinforces Tempe Marketplace as a premier retail destination in the Valley.”

The new arrivals add even more range to a property already home to more than 100 retailers and restaurants across 1.3 million square feet. Located at the Loop 101 and 202 crossroads, Tempe Marketplace continues to sharpen its mix of shopping, dining, entertainment and now everything from technical hunting gear to statement handbags.
