West Valley pizza lovers have been making the drive. Spinato’s Pizzeria & Family Kitchen is finally bringing the pie closer to home.
The Tempe-born favorite plans to open its seventh metro Phoenix restaurant at GSQ-Goodyear Civic Square in the fourth quarter of 2027. The new spot will rise near 150th Drive and McDowell Road in a ground-up space built around the way Spinato’s actually operates, from the kitchen flow to the full dining experience.
Construction on the building shell is already underway, with interior work expected to begin in May 2027.
For CEO Anthony Spinato, the move feels less like expansion and more like answering the group chat. “We are grateful that so many of our longtime, loyal guests have taken the time to drive far from their homes to dine at our restaurants. We heard them, and we are so excited to welcome them to our new Goodyear location next year,” Spinato says.
Spinato’s has been feeding the Valley since 1974, with Chicago-style pizza at the center of the table. The menu also covers sandwiches, pastas, calzones, salads, homemade desserts, gluten-free dishes and keto-friendly options. The Goodyear restaurant will join locations in Tempe, Scottsdale, Gilbert, Ahwatukee, Central Phoenix and North Phoenix. It is also expected to create 75 to 95 part-time and full-time jobs.
The setting helped win Spinato over. GSQ-Goodyear Civic Square is designed as a place to linger, gather and catch community events, which made it a natural fit for a restaurant built around family dinners and shared slices.
“I just fell in love with the civic square,” he says. “It’s just a great place where families and friends go out and gather.”
Goodyear Mayor Joe Pizzillo says Spinato’s has been one of the restaurant concepts most requested by residents through the city’s retail survey. “Spinato’s is a well-loved Arizona brand,” Pizzillo says. “We are excited to welcome Spinato’s and look forward to their success as part of our growing community.”
While Goodyear waits for its turn at the table, North Phoenix is getting the upgrade now.
Spinato’s has relocated its longtime North Phoenix restaurant to 1107 E. Bell Road, Suites 1 and 2, near Seventh Street and Bell Road. The refreshed space comes with expanded seating, indoor and outdoor bars, an enclosed patio with misters and heaters, a private dining room and a dedicated pickup and delivery area. A bigger kitchen also means more room for the brand’s expanded food and drink menu.
And because every good relocation deserves a wink, the Bell Road restaurant gets its own exclusive cocktail: the “Saved by the Bell” margarita. “The décor of our new location pays tribute to our loyal guests,” Spinato says. “We invite everyone to come enjoy our expanded food and drink menu and family-friendly, welcoming ambiance.”
