Old Town Scottsdale knows how to do nightlife. The packed dance floors, the bottle service, the bass you can feel in your cheekbones. But Rack brings something a little different to the scene: pool tables, cocktails, big games, better-than-basic bar food, and a social setup that does not require shouting over a nightclub speaker to have a good time.
Founded in 2017 by owner and operator Ed Archuleta, Rack was built as an approachable billiards lounge where beginners, regulars, date-night duos, sports fans, and big groups could all find their lane. The vibe is casual but lively, with enough energy to feel like a night out and enough room to actually hang.
Located at 3636 N. Scottsdale Road in Old Town Scottsdale, Rack has carved out its own corner of the district by blending billiards with food, drinks, sports, and a steady event calendar. Following a recent remodel, the venue now features an indoor-outdoor layout that makes it an easy year-round stop.
Guests can drop in for first-come, first-served pool tables, catch major games and fights on wall-to-wall TVs, show up for themed nights, or settle in with cocktails and food that go well beyond the usual bar lineup. There is something happening almost every day, from Monday industry nights and Tuesday trivia to weekend DJs. Translation: Rack is not waiting for Friday to be fun.
“Rack is more than just a pool lounge. We’ve created a full nightlife experience by combining billiards with live DJs, themed trivia nights, major sports watch parties, craft cocktails, and a high energy atmosphere,” Ed Archuleta, owner and operator of Rack, says. “Whether it’s for pool, the nightlife, or both, Rack offers something for everyone.”
For guests looking to upgrade the game, premium Diamond billiards tables are available for a higher hourly rate, offering a VIP-style experience on some of the venue’s top-tier tables. It is a smart move for anyone who takes their pool seriously, or at least wants to look like they do.
As Father’s Day approaches, Rack is also giving dads a very easy reason to claim a pool table and settle in. The lounge is highlighting Beer Bucket specials that include five beers, with the fifth one complimentary. Domestic beer buckets are $26, while imported beer buckets are $30.
Beyond the buckets, the setup is basically dad-coded in the best way: pool tables, sports on wall-to-wall TVs, burgers, wings, and beer-friendly bites all in one laid-back Old Town spot. Dads who want to level up the outing can also book time on the premium Diamond tables for a higher hourly rate.
Rack is also expanding into lunch service starting May 27, giving guests another reason to swing by before the nightlife crowd rolls in. From Wednesday through Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., the lounge will offer lunch specials including $5-per-hour pool, $5 burgers, and $5 one-topping pizzas.
Then comes Happy Hour, which runs from 4 to 7 p.m. with $8-per-hour pool, two-for-one select drinks, $1 off beer, $9 sliders, and $8 personal pizzas. The full menu leans into crowd-pleasers like smash burgers, wings, and pizza, while the cocktail program brings in signatures including the Hugo Spritz, Sinful Strawberry Martini, and Berried in Melons.
Sports fans get their own reason to stay awhile, too. Rack streams major games and fights, including UFC events, making it a strong pick for anyone who wants the action without giving up the social atmosphere.
In a nightlife district known for going all-in, Rack stands out by keeping things playful, social, and easy to enjoy. It is still Old Town energy, just with pool cues, cocktails, sports, and a little more room to breathe.
