Insider Info

The beginner-friendly, high-energy competition invites Arizona players to step onto the court April 18-19.

You’ve seen padel take over cities like Miami, New York, and Los Angeles. Now it’s Mesa’s turn. On April 18 and 19, Padel Pals will host a USPA 100 Tournament at its fully indoor facility, bringing together local players, first-time competitors, and rising talent for a weekend of fast-paced matches, social energy, and a clear entry point into competitive play.

Designed as the perfect starting level, the USPA 100 tournament removes many of the barriers that typically come with competition. Players can enter without a United States Padel Association membership, and the one- to two-day format makes it easy to participate without committing an entire weekend.

“This is where the sport really starts to click,” says Carlos Pereyra, co-founder of Padel Pals and tournament director. “You come in curious, play a few matches, and suddenly you’re part of it.”

Sanctioned by the United States Padel Association, the USPA 100 tournament awards entry-level ranking points, making it ideal for local players looking to gain experience and take their first step into competitive padel.

The tournament will feature men’s and women’s divisions across D1 through D4 levels, with strong participation expected from the local community. Men’s divisions are anticipated to fill across D1 through D3, while women’s divisions continue to grow, particularly at the D2 level. Organizers are encouraging more beginner players to step into D4 and experience tournament play for the first time.

Players can expect a structured and social experience, with round-robin group play followed by bracket finals. Each participant is guaranteed at least three matches, creating opportunities to compete, improve, and connect with other players.

What to expect at the Padel Pals USPA 100 Tournament:

  • Competition Level: USPA-sanctioned event offering 100 ranking points, designed for new and developing players.
  • Divisions: Men’s and women’s play across D1, D2, D3, and D4 levels.
  • Format: Round-robin group play followed by bracket finals, with a minimum of three matches per player.
  • Accessibility: No USPA membership required to compete.
  • Experience: A welcoming, high-energy environment focused on growth, connection, and competitive play.

Beyond the matches, the event reflects Padel Pals’ broader mission to grow padel in Arizona by making the sport approachable, social, and easy to access. Hosting USPA-sanctioned tournaments is a key part of that vision, helping build long-term participation while positioning Phoenix among the next wave of major U.S. padel markets.

“This is how you build a real padel community,” Pereyra says. “You give people a place to start, a reason to come back, and a group to grow with.”

The Padel Pals USPA 100 Tournament will take place April 18–19. Entry is $55 per player, and registration closes Monday, April 13 at 11:59 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to winners and runners-up. Matches will follow Star Point rules.

Padel Pals is located at 4945 S. 71st Street in Mesa. For more information or to register, visit padel-pals.com or reach out to support@padel-pals.com.
