At Ling & Louie’s Asian Bar and Grill, brunch is about more than a great meal. Beginning this winter, the Scottsdale restaurant is inviting the community to start their weekends with purpose through its Big Hearted Brunch, a seasonal give-back campaign benefiting Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels, a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting children battling cancer and other life-threatening illnesses, and the families walking alongside them.
Every Saturday and Sunday throughout January, February, and March, a portion of brunch sales at Ling & Louie’s will be donated directly to Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels, helping fund counseling, financial assistance, advocacy, and the organization’s signature Comfycozy for Chemo products designed to bring dignity and comfort to children undergoing treatment.
“For us, food has always been about connection, and this partnership makes that connection deeply personal,” said John Banquil, owner of Ling & Louie’s Asian Bar and Grill. “One of our teammates has a nephew fighting childhood cancer, and it was important to honor that experience by supporting an organization that truly shows up for families during the hardest moments of their lives. Partnering with Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels felt like the right way to kick off the new year.”
Founded by Lorraine Tallman, Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels was created to ensure that no family navigating pediatric cancer feels alone. The nonprofit provides practical, emotional, and financial support at moments when families are often overwhelmed and stretched thin.

Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels’ core programs and services include:
- Comfycozy for Chemo Products: Providing adaptive, thoughtfully designed apparel and comfort items that help children and adults feel dignity, warmth, and confidence during treatment.
- Comfort and Care Counseling: Offering free individual, family, and group counseling services—including play therapy, mindfulness coaching, mother mentoring, and grief support—to address the emotional and mental well-being of patients, siblings, parents, and caregivers navigating life-threatening illness.
- Financial Assistance: Delivering direct financial relief for here-and-now needs like gas, groceries, and utility bills, allowing families to focus on care rather than cost.
- Major Distractions: Creating moments of joy and connection through events like Spa Days, Craft Days, Family Events, Teen Nights, and Meals of Hope lunches that remind families they are not alone in their journey.
- My Company Cares: The corporate partnership program that enables philanthropic-minded organizations to make a meaningful difference, build team unity, and get inspired.
The need for this support is significant. Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels has facilitated 734 counseling sessions, 632 mom mentoring sessions and 73 mindfulness coaching sessions for children and families, while also providing 1,051 instances of financial assistance totaling nearly $260,000. These services help families focus on treatment and healing without the added burden of everyday expenses.
Guests participating in the Big Hearted Brunch can enjoy Ling & Louie’s popular brunch menu while giving back, with offerings that include signature cocktails like the Javatini and Bangkok Spritz, along with standout dishes such as Korean Fried Chicken Benedict, Louie’s Hangover Fried Rice, Benedict Fries, and Buttermilk Pancakes topped with coconut cream and fresh fruit.
