Arizona movie fans are apparently ready to lose a little sleep for Christopher Nolan.
With The Odyssey drawing blockbuster crowds, Harkins Theatres is adding more showtimes, including late-night IMAX 70MM screenings at Harkins Arizona Mills. Some begin as late as 1:30 a.m., which turns movie night into a full-on cinematic endurance test. Homer would respect the commitment.
The epic adaptation opened to more than $124 million domestically, scoring the biggest live-action debut of 2026, the year’s highest R-rated opening and Universal Pictures’ largest R-rated opening weekend ever.
Worldwide, the film delivered the biggest opening weekend of Nolan’s career, surpassing the $249 million debut of The Dark Knight Rises.
For Arizona audiences, the main event is happening at Arizona Mills. Its six-story IMAX is the only full-sized IMAX in the state showing The Odyssey and one of just 41 locations worldwide presenting the film in IMAX 70MM.
Harkins is also giving moviegoers several ways to go big. The film is playing on CINÉXL screens with crisp 4K laser projection and 40,000 watts of Dolby immersive sound, along with select 35MM, 70MM and IMAX 70MM presentations.
Fans attending a 35MM or 70MM screening can score a collectible film strip while supplies last, adding a little analog movie magic to Nolan’s very large cinematic swing.
Between the overnight screenings, specialty formats and popcorn vessels big enough to require their own itinerary, Harkins is turning The Odyssey into more than a movie night. It is a full-scale Arizona cinema event.
