At Ling’s Wok Shop, bold flavors and wok-fired favorites have always brought people together. This spring, the Scottsdale restaurant is giving guests another reason to dine with purpose through Cooking With a Cause, a three-month give-back campaign benefiting Junior Achievement of Arizona, a nonprofit dedicated to preparing young people for success through financial literacy, career readiness, and entrepreneurship education.
From now through June 30, a portion of proceeds from every dish ordered from Ling’s Favorites will be donated directly to Junior Achievement of Arizona (JA). The campaign offers a simple way for guests to support local students by enjoying the dishes they already love.
“At Ling’s, community connection drives everything we do, and partnering with Junior Achievement just made sense for us,” says John Banquil, owner of Ling’s Wok Shop. “They’re giving kids real-world skills like how to manage money, think entrepreneurially, and plan for their future. That kind of impact sticks. We love that our guests can be part of it just by ordering their favorite dish.”
Junior Achievement of Arizona reaches more than 150,000 students each year, accelerating economic opportunity by connecting education to real career pathways. Through experiential learning and strong partnerships with educators, businesses, and community leaders, JA equips young people with the skills, confidence, and networks needed to succeed in work and life—and drive greater economic mobility for Arizona’s future workforce.
“Junior Achievement is about showing students what’s possible,” says Anne Landers, Chief Operating Officer of Junior Achievement of Arizona. “When young people can see how their education connects to real opportunities, it builds confidence and opens doors.”
Junior Achievement of Arizona’s educational solutions include:
- Accelerating Economic Mobility: JA prepares students to manage money, make informed decisions, and build financial foundations that support long‑term economic success.
- Career Pathways With Purpose: JA connects learning to real careers, helping students develop in‑demand skills, explore viable pathways, and access future opportunities.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset for a Changing Economy: JA builds creativity, problemsolving, and ownership—empowering young people to create and adapt to opportunity.
- 3DE by Junior Achievement: 3DE transforms high schools by embedding real business challenges into core education, aligning classrooms with workforce needs and driving systemic change at scale.
- Experiential Access to Opportunity: Through immersive programs like JA BizTown and large‑scale initiatives like JA Inspire, JA connects students directly to employers, industries, and networks that expand economic opportunity.
Junior Achievement’s unique education solutions equip students with the confidence and skills needed to navigate the economy and achieve long‑term success.
To help support JA, guests can participate in Cooking With a Cause by ordering any dish from Ling’s Favorites, a menu section featuring the restaurant’s most popular entrées. Every order helps support programs that empower Arizona students to build stronger futures.
