Summer at D.A.Ranch has a soundtrack. Beneath the cottonwoods, with Oak Creek nearby, live music fills the family-owned vineyard five days a week. The season also brings weekend food trucks, Wine Wednesdays, creative classes, and dog-friendly events, giving guests plenty of reasons to linger beyond the last song.
Known for its rustic-luxe setting, historic ranch grounds, and 100% estate-grown wines, D.A.Ranch Estate Vineyards is leaning into what summer does best: long afternoons, good music, and the kind of easy gathering that makes people want to stay awhile. Live music takes place Wednesday through Sunday from 2–5 p.m., with artists bringing everything from pop, country, Americana, jazz, and rock to original songs and fresh takes on favorite covers.
“Summer is such a fun time at the ranch because there’s always something happening, but it still feels relaxed,” says Alexis Petznick, executive officer at D.A.Ranch. “You can come out for live music, bring your dog, grab something to eat, walk around the property, and just enjoy being here. That’s really what we want people to feel when they visit.”
Food trucks add to the scene Friday through Sunday from noon–5 p.m., while Wine Wednesdays give locals and industry guests an additional 20% off wine purchases. It is the kind of programming that feels casual on the surface, but quietly turns the ranch into one of the Verde Valley’s most inviting summer stops.
“Live music is a big part of the ranch,” adds Dylan Jung, Wine Club & Entertainment Manager at D.A.Ranch. “We have people who come out for particular acts, and we have people who just happen to be here and end up really enjoying the performer. That’s what makes the live music schedule fun. Every day feels a little different.”
Summer and early fall highlights at D.A.Ranch include:
- Dog Days at D.A.Ranch: Sunday, June 28, brings back the ranch’s dog-friendly event from 11 a.m.–6 p.m. with pups, wine, local animal-focused causes, Bark & Bakery mobile dog truck, Dogtown and Savories food trucks, Christie’s Caffeination Station, an additional wine bar featuring Chateau Tumbleweed wines, a Jerome Humane Society pop-up, live music by Hank Abbey & The Pearl Snaps from Tucson from 2–5 p.m., and an optional Paint & Sip experience with Rachel Tucker at 1 p.m.
- Paint & Sip: Creative afternoons return June 28, July 12, and Aug. 16, giving guests a chance to pair wine with art, conversation, and hands-on summer inspiration. Guests leave with finished artwork and receive 15% off D.A.Ranch estate wine.
- Fourth of July Weekend Wine Cocktail and All-Day Music: On Sunday, July 5, D.A.Ranch keeps the holiday weekend going with a special wine cocktail and music throughout the day. Montana Keyser performs from 11 a.m.–2 p.m., followed by Lisa Mitts Duo from 2–5 p.m.
- Whoa Nelly!: The all-woman Americana picking trio travels from Flagstaff to D.A.Ranch on July 12, bringing harmony, musicianship, and mountain-town energy to the vineyard from 2–5 p.m.
- Two-Band Summer Show: On July 17, D.A.Ranch welcomes Griffin/Gregory and Surrender Hill for a two-band performance from 3–6 p.m., pairing local talent with the touring Americana duo from Georgia.
- Scott & Sabrina: The husband-and-wife country duo brings its Phoenix sound to the ranch Aug. 15 from 2–5 p.m.
- John Smith Presley: On Aug. 30, John Smith Presley performs from 2–5 p.m., adding another memorable name to the ranch’s late-summer calendar.
- Labor Day Weekend Music: D.A.Ranch closes out summer with The Flinns from Texas on Sept. 4, Silver Lining Serenaders from New Orleans on Sept. 5, and Arizona’s own Thunder & Lightnin’ on Sept. 6.
- Fall Wine Club Release Event: On Nov. 8, regional favorite Tyller Gummersall returns with bandmates for an intimate songwriter circle as part of the Fall Wine Club Release event, which is also open to the public.
The ranch’s regular calendar also includes Verde Valley favorites Doyle Figueroa, Him & Me, Frizzy & Edgy, Thunder & Lightnin’, Tommy Rocks, and many more. As the season continues, the lineup expands to include artists from Tucson, Phoenix, Flagstaff, New Orleans, Texas, Georgia, and beyond.
“This season is really about variety,” says Jung. “Some days lean country, some lean Americana, some feel more rock, jazz, or singer-songwriter. Guests can come back again and again and have a completely different experience each time.”
As summer stretches toward fall, D.A.Ranch continues to offer what it does best: estate-grown wine, live music, open space, and a little permission to slow the day down.
