Greenwood Brewing is heading back to its origin story, and doing it in style. The Phoenix-based, woman-owned brewery founded by Megan Greenwood is planting its next flag in Downtown Chandler, bringing its award-winning beers, effortlessly cool vibe, and community-first energy to the East Valley later this year.
The new taproom at 55 N. Arizona Place lands inside The AJ, a mixed-use destination owned by retail real estate investment firm Asana Partners and surrounded by leafy parks and gathering spaces that make Downtown Chandler one of the Valley’s most charming hangout zones. The space leans into Greenwood’s signature indoor-outdoor feel with three garage doors that roll open to the surrounding greenery, creating the kind of breezy, social setup that practically begs for a cold pint.
For Greenwood, this isn’t just expansion. It’s a full-circle moment.
After moving to the Phoenix metro area in 2012, she lived in Chandler just over a mile from the future taproom. That’s where a birthday gift—a simple homebrew kit—sparked what would soon become one of Arizona’s fastest-rising craft beer brands.
Within a year, her garage had transformed into a full microbrewery with a kegerator pouring up to seven beers on tap. That passion project eventually evolved into Greenwood Brewing, which launched in 2020 during the chaos of the pandemic and has since grown into one of the top 20 largest breweries in Arizona.
“Greenwood Brewing opened in 2020, in the middle of COVID, and it wasn’t an easy place to start,” says Megan Greenwood. “Since then, Greenwood has grown into something I’m deeply proud of. Bringing our next chapter to Chandler, the city where my brewing journey began, feels incredibly meaningful, and I’m excited to serve this community in a thoughtful and welcoming way.”

Today, Greenwood Brewing is known for beers that are approachable but never boring. Crowd favorites include Inbloom Blueberry Wheat, Greenwood Light Lager, Warrior Hazy IPA, and Purpose Pilsner. The brewery has racked up more than ten medals at the Arizona Craft Brewers Awards and earned the title of 2025 Arizona Travel Award Statewide Brewery of the Year.
The Chandler location will add a few fresh twists to the Greenwood experience. Alongside the beer lineup, guests can expect a curated wine menu developed with a sommelier partner, plus light bites and take-away picnic baskets designed for the ultimate Chandler move: grabbing a drink and heading straight to the nearby park.
City leaders see the brewery as a natural fit for the energy building downtown.
“Greenwood Brewing will be an excellent addition to Downtown Chandler,” says Mayor Kevin Hartke. “This is a great example of how strategic city investment, thoughtful park renovation and intentional placemaking support businesses that have built strong reputations and loyal customer bases. Greenwood Brewing will be a welcome addition to the local businesses that make up our downtown, and we’re excited to welcome their team to our community.”
For Asana Partners, the brewery checks every box for what The AJ was designed to become: a place where people gather, linger, and experience the best of Chandler’s evolving downtown.
With upscale housing, nearly eight million square feet of office space within a mile, and a rapidly expanding tech workforce nearby, the neighborhood is attracting a new wave of locals ready to claim their favorite after-work and weekend spots. Greenwood Brewing looks ready to become one of them.
